*Please note entrance/parking is actually in the back of the building. Make a right on Wilson Street, then a right behind the building. We’re the first set of black steps after the big gate.
7:30pm Secret “Holiday Special” Screening (of one of the most famous -- or infamous --holiday specials of all time)
SPECIAL NOTE: Tonight, we’re throwing a fundraiser to do our part to help our sister rep cinema get over the finish line with their renovation of the Eagle Theater in Eagle Rock. Vidiots Executive Director Maggie Mackay and the entire Vidiots team have been working tirelessly to open their rep cinema/video store/community space. We’re all in this together. Our suggested donation for the night is $25 per ticket. But if you want to donate more, go for it!
Tonight we want to do our part to help the Los Angeles cinematic firmament reignite a star. Vidiots is a Los Angeles institution. This programmer remembers meeting Seymour Cassel when the Vidiots store was in Santa Monica. And Mr. Cassel told this Programmer John Cassavetes stories for 15 minutes. Where else are you gonna get that!?
Over the last few years, Vidiots has worked tirelessly to renovate and re-open the historic Eagle Theater in Eagle Rock. They’ll also have a video store and micro cinema on premises. And we’re excited to do cinema exchange events with them!
Tonight, with Maggie and crew on hand, we’ll be screening one of the most famous -- or infamous -- holiday specials of all time. We can’t tell you what it is (because it’s a secret). But you will have the DAY of your LIFE. And years from now, you’ll back on this night as if it were A LONG LONG TIME AGO. . .almost in A GALAXY FAR AWAY and say, “I can’t believe this thing got made.”
If we haven’t dropped enough hints, have a friend of yours read this and they’ll tell you what we’re talking about. We’ll have wine, beer, popcorn, food, fun, friends, on hand. And Maggie and this Programmer will each tell you how a story of how this Special changed their life.
We’ll be donating ALL REVENUES tonight (including concessions) to Vidiots so Secret Movie Club can hopefully become a founding member of what will continue to be one of the great LA movie institutions. We’re all in this together. Let’s do our part to continue to make LA the greatest movie capital in the world.

REFUNDS:
We can offer refunds up to 24 hours before showtime. Please request a refund through Eventbrite and we will process ASAP. After that, no refunds. Sorry.
However if something last minute comes up and you can’t make the screening, for whatever reason, just write to us before showtime: community@secretmovieclub.com and we’ll offer you complimentary tickets to a future screening, good for 90 days. (Disclaimer: Future screening must have available tickets, cannot be a fundraiser, and must be comparably priced)
HELPFUL SECRET MOVIE CLUB (1917 Bay Street, 2nd Floor, LA, CA 90021) THEATER PARKING TIPS:
We recommend that you park just outside our theater. Remember our theater is actually in a beautiful street art alleyway in the back of the 1917 Bay Street building. You get to our entrance by taking a right on Wilson, then a right behind the building. We are the first set of black steps on the right after the big gate.
There is also a parking lot at the corner of Mateo and Violet Street, just 2 blocks from our theater, which costs $7 per car.
