SPECIAL LIVE PERFORMANCE NOTE: This 35mm screening will be accompanied by a live original score comped and performed by the Jack Dubowksy Orchestra (http://www.destijlmusic.com/jcde). The JCD Orchestra has partnered with us previously and performed their incredible scores for FW Murnau's NOSFERATU and SUNRISE.
They're hard at work with a special instrumentation that includes a trumpet and Spanish guitarist!

*Please note, there is parking available at the Grand Central Market Parking Lot at the corner of 3rd and Hill Street (entrance on Hill Street) and at various lots. We have a limited number of $6 all day parking passes available for purchase via add-ons!

We're proud and excited to partner with the Jack Dubowsky Orchestra for a live performance of their original score as we screen Douglas Fairbanks' 1920 swashbuckling action-adventure classic THE MARK OF ZORRO on 35mm!
THE MARK OF ZORRO is often considered ground-zero for the start of the action-adventure movie as we know it today. Fairbanks (who did almost all his own stunts) plays Don Diego/Zorro. Don Diego is the apparently dilettante son of a wealthy Spanish Californian landowner who grows more and more disenchanted with the corrupt government's treatment of workers and the poor.
Finally Don Diego disguises himself as "Señor Zorro" (Mr. Fox), a black caped and masked mystery man, who uses his sword and mind blowing athletic ability to outsmart the corrupt and help the poor.
Filled with a mix of comedy, action, stunts, and set pieces that still wow today and are all tied together with a great homegrown "Los Angeles" story (200 years ago in 1821!), THE MARK OF ZORRO is exactly the kind of summer movie that would have played in the Million Dollar Theater when it opened and the kind we need right now.
And bonus trivia, it is THE MARK OF ZORRO that DC Comics says a young Bruce Wayne saw with his parents just before they were killed. Thus causing him to create "Batman"!

REFUNDS:
We can offer refunds up to 24 hours before showtime. Please request a refund through Eventbrite and we will process ASAP. After that, no refunds. Sorry.
However if something last minute comes up and you can’t make the screening, for whatever reason, just write to us before showtime: community@secretmovieclub.com and we’ll offer you complimentary tickets to a future screening, good for 90 days. (Disclaimer: Future screening must have available tickets, cannot be a fundraiser, and must be comparably priced)
HELPFUL MILLION DOLLAR THEATER MOVIE PALACE PARKING TIPS:
If you are attending any or all movies on any given day, you can go to ADD ONS and pre-order an all day $6 Grand Central Parking Lot Pass (while SUPPLIES last). The Grand Central Parking Lot is at the corner of 3rd Street and Hill Street just 1 block from the Million Dollar Theater entrance on 3rd & Broadway.
