7:30pm Resistance Comedy Show: Halloween Horror Edition!
8:50pm PATRICK STILL LIVES (1980, dir. Mario Landi, Italy, 92mns, 35mm) *Re-dubbed live by members of the Resistance and Special Guests
[WARNING: This movie contains graphic scenes of Italian schlock sex, sexual assault with a flying poker, and just really bad gore and horror. The Resistance will be live re-dubbing it. But you best come prepared to see things you can’t unsee.]
Okay. If you’ve been to one of these shows, you know they’re hilarious. Our favorite improv comedy troupe The Resistance (https://resistancecomedy.com/) joins us for a double header of hilarity.
First up, the Resistance sets up residence in our huge back room, asks for suggestions, and will improv a hilarious horror movie, live, based on your suggestions at the beginning.
Then after a 20 minute intermission, we move into the main theater where we run a 35mm print of 1980 Italian schlock horror jaw dropper Patrick Still Lives about a boy who comes out of a coma after a car accident and uses his newly found psychic powers to brutally kill folks.
The Resistance have their work cut out for them as they try to make a scene of a flying fire poker sexually assaulting and then killing a character (the actor complained the director always loved to film such scenes in the winter when everything was really cold) into something...acceptable?
These nights have always been a blast with the ridiculously talented (and increasingly well-known) members of the Resistance always bringing the comedy heat and fun.
So join us for a night of comedy. . .Halloween edition!

REFUNDS:
We can offer refunds up to 24 hours before showtime. Please request a refund through Eventbrite and we will process ASAP. After that, no refunds. Sorry.
However if something last minute comes up and you can’t make the screening, for whatever reason, just write to us before showtime: community@secretmovieclub.com and we’ll offer you complimentary tickets to a future screening, good for 90 days. (Disclaimer: Future screening must have available tickets, cannot be a fundraiser, and must be comparably priced)
HELPFUL SECRET MOVIE CLUB (1917 Bay Street, 2nd Floor, LA, CA 90021) THEATER PARKING TIPS:
We recommend that you park just outside our theater. Remember our theater is actually in a beautiful street art alleyway in the back of the 1917 Bay Street building. You get to our entrance by taking a right on Wilson, then a right behind the building. We are the first set of black steps on the right after the big gate.
There is also a parking lot at the corner of Mateo and Violet Street, just 2 blocks from our theater, which costs $7 per car.
