The hilarious improv troupe The Resistance return under cover of night to the Secret Movie Club Theater to do their hilarious one hour audience participation improv and then live comedy dub one of the most befuddling horror movies of all time: MANOS THE HANDS OF FATE!

If you’ve never attended one of these shows, they are some of the most purely hilarious and creative events we do each year.

First, The Resistance takes your suggestions and spontaneously creates a 45 minute or so “mini-movie” comedy improv based on a genre and your suggestions.

Then they move into the theater, sharp, lithe, and live dub a feature film while we laugh our asses off.

Tonight, we screen the 1966 mind-melter MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE. Shot in El Paso by members of a local live theater troupe, the movie starts (as horror movies often do) with a couple getting lost and stopping at a house that turns out to be run by a Polyamorous Cult Leader known as the Master and who has some intense paintings of himself.

Made famous by MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, MANOS often has the reputation as one of the most head scratching movies ever made with disconnected scenes that include random cat fights and a couple making out in the distance. But the Master always wins. . .THE RESISTANCE will bring their improv skills to bare on this cult classic.

REFUNDS:

We can offer refunds up to 24 hours before showtime. Please request a refund through Eventbrite and we will process ASAP. After that, no refunds. Sorry.

However if something last minute comes up and you can’t make the screening, for whatever reason, just write to us before showtime: community@secretmovieclub.com and we’ll offer you complimentary tickets to a future screening, good for 90 days. (Disclaimer: Future screening must have available tickets, cannot be a fundraiser, and must be comparably priced)

HELPFUL SECRET MOVIE CLUB (1917 Bay Street, 2nd Floor, LA, CA 90021) THEATER PARKING TIPS:

We recommend that you park just outside our theater. Remember our theater is actually in a beautiful street art alleyway in the back of the 1917 Bay Street building. You get to our entrance by taking a right on Wilson, then a right behind the building. We are the first set of black steps on the right after the big gate.

There is also a parking lot at the corner of Mateo and Violet Street, just 2 blocks from our theater, which costs $7 per car.
