730pm Live Improv on musicals by The Resistance (this will run roughly 45mns, followed by a 30 minute intermission)
9p CINDERELLA (1977, dir by Michael Pataki, 96mns, 35mm) w/ live improv comedy commentary by The Resistance
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note we are showing the 1977 soft-core musical CINDERELLA musical with live comedy before and during by our friends the improv troupe The Resistance (https://resistancecomedy.com/). NO ONE UNDER 18 YEARS OLD WILL BE ADMITTED due to the fact that we are showing a soft-core adults only movie (with surprisingly good music). Also, the movie traffics in some definitely outdated stereotypes which we will be mercilessly making fun of.
We like to take chances at the Secret Movie Club and collaborate with improv troupes, comedians, musicians, etc so we can all get creating again in 2022. We hope you'll take a chance on this. And laugh. In a good way. God willing.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
***ALL AUDIENCE will be required to show proof of vaccination at the door. PLEASE HAVE YOUR VIRTUAL OR PHYSICAL VACCINATION CARD READY BEFORE ENTERING THE THEATER. If you have an exemption, please have proof of a negative PCR level COVID test within 3 days of the screening.

Let’s all do our part to beat this thing so we can go back to the complete movie going experience!
To stay dynamic, you gotta take chances. And boy are we taking a chance on this one.
Because tonight, we're having the amazing improv troupe THE RESISTANCE (https://resistancecomedy.com/) who have joined us before for YETI and THE LAST SHARK come to do a live comedy set followed by a live commentary of the 1977 soft-core musical Cinderella (which has surprisingly good musical numbers). On 35mm!
We start off the night with a roughly 30mn-45mn live set from The Resistance around the genre of musical. You, the audience give them suggestions. They, the performers, run with them.
We will then have a 30 minute intermission where everyone can order wine, beer, concessions, get ready. Because. . .
We follow this up with the Resistance sitting down to offer a live-dub running commentary (Mystery Science 3000 style) on the you have to see it to believe it 1977 musical soft core fairy tale adaptation of Cinderella. On a 35mm print!
A famous 70's soft-core porno, Cinderella has surprisingly high production values, relatively tame sex scenes (a lot of nudity and obscured lovemaking, sorry hard core fans), some pretty lamentable stereotypes we'll be poking fun at, and the jaw dropping ambition to also have musical numbers.
As we watch this 1970's miracle unfold, the Resistance will be supplying us with the comedy riffing.
At Secret Movie Club, we're all about trying new things and taking chances. We sure as hell hope this one pans out. Come laugh and have a fun time.
Best always,
